Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September the 21st of September 1983 in Worthington Ohio is an American actor. She is best known for playing Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills and Kim Mills on ABC's Lost television show. She was born in Worthington in Ohio. She dropped out of high school after her parents split up to move into Los Angeles to live with her mother. However, in 2001, despite financial struggles she managed get her first significant performance in the video online series Rachel's Room playing the lead character. In 2002, she was awarded an Young Artist Award in 2002 for her performance in Murder on the streets of Greenwich of a 15-year old Martha Moxley as a murder victim, she went on to win. In 2004, Grace was selected to portray Shannon Rutherford in the television show Lost on which she acted as a principal actor for the first two seasons, and was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the cast of the ensemble. Grace decided to leave the show in order to concentrate on her professional film work. She had starred alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. She was on the screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) opposite Liam Neeson. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) Replays of characters. Grace returned to Shannon's character in Lost for two episodes. This included the final episode of the series. She also appeared in the sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith she is the muse and fan of the stars. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. Part of the Gyllenhaal family she is the daughter of film makers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and the older sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began as a young teenager as she was cast in minor roles in several films from her father. She also worked with her brother on the 2001 popular movie Donnie Darko. Later, she was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romantic comedy drama Secretary (2002) as well as the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) each of which resulted in an Golden Globe Award nomination. After several commercially successful films in 2006 such as World Trade Center she received more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). In 2009, she was nominated for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of a single mom in Crazy Heart. Then she continued to play in comedies as well as dramas such Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (12). The other roles she's played include Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller) as well as musicians in Frank (2014 Drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) as well as The kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal wrote and directed her first film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The thriller that dealt with psychological issues was awarded the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. It was also nominated to The Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
